I was born in 1951, having turned 70 years old. After having accumulated expertise at Nomura Securities (1974~), Morgan Stanley (1983~), First Boston (currently Credit Suisse; 1988~), I began conducting my independent business in 1996. As such, I have been engaged in investment banking business for a total of 48 years.
There are too many unsuccessful cases of overseas M&A transactions executed by Japanese companies. Capitalizing on our strength as an independent firm, we are in a position to give a neutral and objective advice to a board of directors as to ongoing M&A transactions. In 2008, I together with several friends established Global Alliance Partners (GAP) in Hong Kong. GAP, consisting of firms from fourteen countries, is a global organization for cross-border M&A collaboration. While acting as Director of this worldwide entity, I have established a one-of-a-kind network of foreign information and intelligence.
From 2012 through March 2022, I have served as a leading company’s advisor for about ten years. During this period, market capitalization of this company has increased more than tenfold, reaching two trillion yen (circa US$15.6 billion). I firmly believe that such extensive experience and information network would be instrumental in assisting various companies with their corporate management strategies, including capital and financial policies as well as acquisition strategy.
